Note From the Editor
As creatures of habit and sentiment, we human beings have the tendency to develop and stick to what we call “traditions”. Traditions help us establish a regular way of doing things, and then we keep doing things in that way. In many ways, traditions are akin to specific processes we develop to define how we “do” things.
While I have many traditions that I love and would never dream of changing, I also recognize that sometimes it takes someone challenging the traditional in order to discover something new, progressive, better, or more effective.
We’ve been doing a lot of “tradition” challenging around here – and it’s all in the name of finding better ways to get work done. Now that we’ve found something that we believe in, we want to share it with you. Our newsletter this week comes to you from WorkOut 2011, the AtTask Work Management Summit, and introduces the release of a new product and a paradigm shift from traditional project management to a new Work Management platform. Work Management and the Need to Jump Through Hoops
If you’ve ever been to the circus you’ve seen what I’m about to describe. A trainer walks into the center ring followed by several dogs who proceed to run up skinny ramps, up and down teeter-totters and jump through hoops. Unfortunately, the circus isn’t the only place I’ve seen this…

Where the Rubber Hits the Road: Project Execution
We spend a lot of time talking about the best way to manage projects, communicate with stakeholders and engage project teams. All those things (and dozens of others) are critical to whether or not projects are successful. However, none of them matter if we aren’t able to execute…
