Is Your Project Team Playing Games at Work?

Knowing Your Team Members and Their Capabilities

71 Percent of American Workers are Not Engaged in their Work

Note From the Editor by Raechel Logan

If you pulled each of your team members into your office today for a one-on-one and asked them how engaged they felt in the work they’re doing for your project, how do you think they’d respond? An “engaged” employee is one who is fully involved in his or her work. If your team members are truly engaged, they will feel enthusiasm about and take ownership of the work they are doing; engagement digs deeper than mere job satisfaction or motivation.

According to Gallup research, “Engaged employees are more productive. They are more profitable, more customer-focused, safer, and more likely to withstand temptations to leave. The best-performing companies know that an employee engagement improvement strategy linked to the achievement of corporate goals will help them win in the marketplace.”

The workforce is changing and evolving — feeling engaged at work is more important now than ever before. In order to adapt, we may have to start getting creative. This week’s newsletter contains some different ideas that could help you get more engaged team members and, as a result, greater productivity.
