@task’s January 2008 update includes Calculated Custom Data Fields.

Calculated custom data fields allow users to customize data fields specific to their business. These custom fields can be attached to issues, tasks, projects and users. They can also be used for searching and reporting.

A few examples would be:

Calculate remaining hours by subtracting Actual Work from Planned Work
Calculate Profit by subtracting Costs from Revenue
Calculate a custom Percent Complete by dividing Actual Work by Planned Work
Join text from two different fields
