Meet the faces behind AtTask.

Eric Morgan

CEO

Eric joined AtTask in September 2011 and has an extensive track record in building cohesive teams around a powerful vision, exceeding established goals and creating world-class organizations. “Success as an enterprise SaaS business, more than traditional software providers, requires that we deliver value to our clients everyday if we expect to keep them as a client. This intense focus on client success is very exciting and drives us to constantly improve the value we deliver to them.” says Morgan.

Eric’s career in tech includes experiences in early-stage start-ups, high-growth businesses and publicly traded companies. In each of these roles, he has found ways to beat expectations while leading organizations through periods of high growth. The diverse lessons he learned at industry leading companies like NCR, Lawson Software and AdvancedMD have given him a unique toolset to tackle the Chief Executive role at AtTask where he says, “I have had the pleasure of working with some great companies and believe that we are poised for the greatest market potential of any I have experienced.”

A native of New Jersey, Eric has made his home in Park City, Utah since 2008. He describes Utah as “…one of the best kept secrets in the country.” In addition to enjoying Utah’s world-famous skiing, he is an avid mountain and road biker and enjoys exploring the amazing outdoor splendor that Utah has to offer.

Eric graduated from New England College in 1983.

 

 

 

Michael Olson

Chief Financial Officer

Michael Olson, AtTask’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) since December of 2008, is responsible for the overall financial strategy and direction of AtTask as well as the accounting and legal teams. With over fourteen years of financial management experience in software, hardware, and manufacturing, Mike is passionate about winning. “I love providing real time operating and financial data to help the business succeed and make good decisions,” says Mike. “For me, it’s all about helping my coworkers and AtTask succeed in finding better ways to get things done.” Mike’s experience comes from companies such as inthinc, The SCO Group, and Arthur Andersen.

Mike enjoys playing golf and vacationing with his family whenever a cruise ship or a large mouse is involved.

Mike holds a Bachelors Degree in Finance and a Masters Degree in Accounting from Utah State University and is a Certified Public Accountant. Utah Business Magazine also named Mike the 2010 CFO of the Year.

 

 

 

Bryan Nielson

Chief Marketing Officer

As Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), Bryan leads the development of a best-in-class marketing team to create awareness and demand for AtTask’s leading work management solutions. As a leader in marketing, innovation, and strategy, Bryan is focused on delivering break-through results for AtTask and AtTask customers.

Bryan joined AtTask in 2011 as the Vice President of Product and brings more than fifteen years of experience in building and marketing SaaS solutions. Bryan has held marketing and product leadership positions at a number of technology companies, including the last six years at Microsoft, where he led the global product management and marketing teams for Microsoft Dynamics CRM. Prior to Microsoft, Bryan held a variety of product and marketing leadership roles at technology companies ranging from start-ups to large enterprises, including Cincom, divine, Synchrony, and Compaq. With on-the-ground international experience in 20+ countries, and experience launching and marketing SaaS solutions into 40+ countries, Bryan has a unique perspective of marketing on a global scale.

When not at work, Bryan enjoys actively engaging with his kids in all of their activities. Bryan is an avid golfer and is on a quest to play the top 100 golf courses in the US.

Bryan holds a bachelors degree in from the University of Cincinnati, and attended Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business for his MBA before dropping out halfway through so that one day he could show up in lists next to other notable college drop-outs, like Bill Gates and Steve Jobs.

 

 

 

Ted Hoy

Chief Technology Officer

Twice named to Infoweek’s lists of Masters of Technology and Top 250 Innovators, Ted Hoy brings a wealth of experience to AtTask. In his role as Chief Technology Officer (CTO), he oversees Product Strategy, Product Management, Product Development, Infrastructure, and IT Services. A customer centric leader focused on “giving our customers maximum value that’s easy to use.”

Before joining AtTask, Ted was Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Optum Health Cloud at UnitedHealth Group, one of the largest health information, technology and consulting companies in the world. Previously, Ted was Senior Vice President of Products and Technology at Digital River and held numerous senior leadership roles over 10 years with Sun Microsystems where he was awarded the prestigious Sun Chairman’s Leadership Award. He also held senior leadership positions at Sony Electronics and USWest.

If Ted isn’t at the office, he’s proudly fulfilling his duties as a dad by putting high-heeled shoes on a Barbie or reading monosyllabic literature out loud, getting in a round of golf or spending the day on a board (wake, snow, or surf).

Ted received his MBA from the University of Colorado – Boulder, and holds a bachelors degree from California State University Stanislaus.

 

 

 

Frank Maylett

Executive VP of Sales & Services

As Executive Vice President (EVP) of Sales and Services, Frank Maylett leads the AtTask global sales and services teams with a philosophy of “I to the power of three—Intensity, Intelligence and Integrity.” This mantra empowers his teams to focus on the company vision and has consistently set records for bookings, average deal size, and excellence in customer relationships, training, and consulting.

Prior to AtTask, Frank was the EVP of Sales at inContact, where he was a key driver in repositioning inContact from a telecommunications company to the leading provider of cloud-based contact center software. Frank was instrumental in growing and expanding the sales organization on an international level, opening offices in the Philippines and London. A tech sales veteran, Frank was also responsible for building Brocade’s software sales organization from the ground up and growing revenue year-over-year. At IBM, Frank led the national sales team to record sales results and consistently exceeded revenue targets, growing sales 430% over 3 years. Frank also served as the Vice President of Sales for Kabira Technologies and Vice President of Worldwide Sales for ReleaseNow.

Frank holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Phoenix.

 

 

 

Nate Bowler

General Manager, Marketing Solutions Group

As GM of the Marketing Solutions Group, Nate leads the business unit responsible for developing and delivering the AtTask for Enterprise Marketing Teams solution specifically catered to marketing and creative teams.

Nate has served in numerous roles within AtTask and has been instrumental in the growth and success of the company.

One of AtTask’s co-founders, Nate previously served as AtTask’s CTO overseeing the product development and IT organizations. Previously, he worked at Excite@Home developing shared hosting and e-commerce solutions and at

Novations Group, creating solutions for the management consulting firm.

 

While still a technologist at heart, Nate has enjoyed the opportunity to use his product and industry experience to work much more closely with customers in helping them achieve their work management goals.

Nate enjoys the many outdoor activities living in Utah affords, and when he isn’t riding ATVs, skiing down the slopes, or chipping for birdie, he’s spending time with family or rooting for UNLV basketball.

 

 

 

Austin Miller

Vice President of Human Resources

As Vice President of Human Resources, Austin is responsible for building a high performing, and rewarding workplace within AtTask by overseeing our people, places and compliance at an enterprise level. Austin has a proven track record of strategic growth and culture development within an organization and has a passion for building high performing, happy employees.

As a Human Resource and Talent Acquisition leader, he specializes in creating and improving operational metrics, enhancing communication, and improving company drive toward top revenue. Prior to AtTask, Austin worked with CirclePix, Utah Valley University, SirsiDynix, and Omniture.

When Austin has free time he enjoys spending time with his three boys and beautiful wife. He also loves playing a good paintball game, reading, and watching football.

Austin received his bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from Utah Valley University, and his Masters degree in Human Resource Leadership from Sullivan University. Austin is recognized in the Who’s Who of growing leaders in Utah, and is the most connected person we know.

Scott Johnson

Chairman and Founder

Scott Johnson, Chairman and Founder of AtTask is recognized as a business leader who challenges traditional management mentalities and applies out-of-the-box thinking to solve the important business problems faced by organizations today. “What I really care about is helping organizations understand and organize the work that is most important to business success,” says Johnson. “Business leaders who are able to clearly communicate objectives and efficiently organize the workplace empower their employees to maximize the value of their efforts. This concept guides everything we do at AtTask.”

A true adrenaline junky, Scott hasn’t found a sport that involves going fast with something strapped to his feet he doesn’t like. The same passion for pushing limits to achieve excellence in extreme sports helped make AtTask a fast growing company that has been instrumental in helping thousands of business leaders empower their workforce, streamline processes, and transform their businesses.

Johnson is a graduate of Brigham Young University and an acknowledged expert in project management. An engaging speaker and consultant, Johnson has been featured in such publications as CIO Magazine, Business Management Magazine, PM Network, and Business Week.

Richard Allen

Richard Allen is a seasoned business executive with more than 25 years of experience in technology companies. Mr. Allen was the chief financial officer of J.D. Edwards (now Oracle Corporation), an enterprise application software company, from January 1990 to September 2003, and held several senior management positions and titles since joining J.D. Edwards in August 1985. Prior to joining J.D. Edwards, Mr. Allen served as controller for Luff Exploration, an oil and gas exploration and production company, from 1982 to 1985, and as a senior accountant with Coopers & Lybrand, a public accounting firm, from 1979 to 1982. He also serves on the board of directors of three privately held companies.

Mr. Allen holds a B.S. degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting from Colorado State. He joined the AtTask board of directors in early 2012.

 

 

 

John Avirett

John is currently a Principal at Greenspring Associates, where he oversees the due diligence of fund and direct investments as well as management of the Analyst Program. Prior to joining the global venture capital investment firm, Avirett was an Associate at Zurich Financial Services. John is currently a board observer on Turn and Zulily, and is responsible for the firm’s investment in Lithium Technologies.

John graduated from John Hopkins University with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in Economics. John also studied via exchange at the University of Wollongong in Australia.

 

 

 

Susan Carstensen

Susan brings more than 25 years of business leadership experience to the table, most recently from RightNow Technologies (acquired in 2011 by Oracle, Inc.), where she served in various roles, including Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Chief Operating Officer (COO), and SVP, Customer Experience. Susan also served on the Board of Directors of LiveOffice (acquired by Symantec). Prior to RightNow, Carstensen was CFO at Powerhouse Technologies, Inc., and held management positions at Martin Marietta Astronautics Group (acquired by Lockheed Martin) and Ernst & Young LLP.

Susan holds a B.A. and B.S. in Business and Political Science from Montana State University-Bozeman.

 

 

 

Bill Conroy

Bill Conroy is a proven technology executive with expertise in corporate strategy and operations for high growth companies. Bill was an IBM Solutions Executive in IBM’s Information Management Organization. He joined Initiate Systems as President, Chief Executive Officer and Director in July of 2002 and orchestrated the sale of the company to IBM in March of 2010. He served as the President / Chief Operating Officer and Director of Click Commerce (Nasdaq: CKCM). Prior to Click Commerce, Bill was a Venture Partner at Insight Capital Group. Prior to that he served as EVP and COO of Tenfold Corporation (Nasdaq: TENF). Bill enjoyed eleven years with Oracle Corporation where his last position was to manage operations in the central and western U.S. He began his career at IBM and holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Bowling Green State University.

 

 

 

Firas Raouf

A Venture Partner at OpenView Venture Partners, Firas Raouf is passionate and skilled at mentoring early stage CEOs as they navigate the challenges of building and scaling their businesses into becoming large, successful companies.

An educated Computer Engineer, Firas has a wealth of experience in engineering, consulting, and business operations from working at companies like Eli Lilly and Booz & Company. He also spent five years as co-founder and COO of eCompany and eEye Digital Security. And ever since 2006, Firas has been focusing on expansion stage investing and operational mentoring at OpenView.

A Certified Scrum Master, Firas earned a BS in Computer Engineering from Northeastern University and a Masters of Engineering Management from the Thayer School at Dartmouth College.
